After installing the Record Validation for Salesforce package, you need to enable API access to your Salesforce environment.

As part of configuring Record Validation for Salesforce, you need to enable API access to your Salesforce environment by profile or permission sets. You will need it when working with Record Validation!

Enable API access in Salesforce by profile

  1. Navigate to (Salesforce's) Setup - Manage Users - Profiles
  2. Click 'Edit' for the profile you want to update.
  3. Scroll down to 'Administrative Permissions'.
  4. Check the 'API Enabled' box. 
  5. Click 'Save'

Enable API access in Salesforce by permission sets

  1. Navigate to (Salesforce's) Setup - Manage Users - Permission Sets
  2. Click on the permission set you want to update.
  3. Go to 'System' and click on 'System Permissions'.
  4. Click on 'Edit'
  5. Check the 'API Enabled' box.
  6. Click 'Save'
